External research
We are interested in all research which has the potential to develop the evidence base for high-quality probation and youth justice services and where we can promote excellence in service provision. We thus support and promote external research activities and findings, and are always interested in opportunities for collaboration and differing ways of filling evidence gaps.
We support the Manchester Metropolitan University Q-Step Programme, the Midlands Graduate School ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership, and the Capabilities in Academic Policy Engagement (CAPE) project.
We also provide advice to a range of external projects, for example:
- Rehabilitating Probation: Rebuilding culture, identity and legitimacy in a reformed public service
- Exploring racial disparity in diversion from the youth justice system
- Revisiting the effectiveness of cognitive behavioural therapy in the criminal justice system
