HM Inspectorate of Probation has a duty to identify and disseminate effective practice, as well as challenge poor performance and encourage improvement.

Our new series of effective practice guides complement our inspection reports and exemplify the standards against which we inspect youth offending and probation. We hope they will help frontline staff as well as managers to deliver good-quality services and improve outcomes for service users.
