Leadership and management of activities

The following indicators describe evidence that may show this expectation being met. They do not exclude other ways of achieving it.

• Managers at all levels ensure that all detainees have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities every day and that sufficient resources are provided to achieve this outcome.
• Monitoring and review arrangements help to ensure that the needs of detainees are met.
• Work and education provision takes account of the assessed needs of detainees returning to the most common destination countries.
• Managers ensure equitable access to activities.
• Managers work effectively with partners, including the voluntary and community sector, for the benefit of detainees.
• Managers ensure that activities are effectively promoted and that detainees are encouraged to participate.
