Leadership and management of preparation for removal and release

The following indicators describe evidence that may show this expectation being met. They do not exclude other ways of achieving it.

• Managers at all levels ensure that detainees can contact the outside world easily and there are sufficient resources to achieve desired outcomes.
• Managers ensure that staff have the knowledge and training to assist detainees effectively, and provide effective support both for families that are removed and for families released in the UK.
• Monitoring and review arrangements are used to help improve services.
• Managers work effectively with partners, including the voluntary and community sector, for the benefit of detainees.
