Leadership and management of preparation for removal and release
30. Preparation for removal and release outcomes for families are supported by effective leadership and management.
The following indicators describe evidence that may show this expectation being met. They do not exclude other ways of achieving it.
- Managers at all levels ensure that detainees can contact the outside world easily and there are sufficient resources to achieve desired outcomes.
- Managers ensure that staff have the knowledge and training to assist detainees effectively, and provide effective support both for families that are removed and for families released in the UK.
- Monitoring and review arrangements are used to help improve services.
- Managers work effectively with partners, including the voluntary and community sector, for the benefit of detainees.
